Introduction to Dermal and Lip Fillers

Cosmetic Injections

The Background

As we age, our skin naturally changes, but factors like overexposure to the sun, smoking, and genetics can accelerate the aging process.  This will result in wrinkles, sagging, dryness, and other skin problems. Visible signs of aging often affect your confidence and self-esteem. While a healthy lifestyle and regular skin care can certainly help delay the onset of these changes, they may not be enough to completely slow the aging process or reverse them.

The Issue

What if you could soften the telltale signs of aging? Progression of deep lines, sagging skin and areas of volume loss can all be targeted to help elevate your look!

The Solution

Dermal fillers like Radiesse can rejuvenate and enhance the appearance of your face.

By injecting a filler under the surface of your skin, cheeks and lip fillers in Mississauga, wrinkles and fine lines can be softened and a deeper injection of filler can address areas of volume loss. Dermal fillers are a popular choice for those looking to enhance their natural features or achieve a more youthful appearance. Some popular treatment areas include under the eyes, laugh lines, cheeks, lips and the temple area.  Fillers are a great way to help you appear more refreshed and revitalized. FAQs

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are a popular cosmetic treatment used to enhance areas of volume loss and help rejuvenate the skin to give it a more youthful appearance. Lip fillers are most commonly made of hyaluronic acid-based products. These fillers are non-permanent, and are reabsorbed into the body over time. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in body tissues and has been used safely for several decades.

How do dermal fillers work?

During the aging process, we lose collagen, fat and bone. This causes our skin to become loose and sag, resulting in the appearance of fine and deep lines. D fillers act as a replacement for bone, fat and tissues, and helps lift and restore our skin to its youthful appearance. Filler material is carefully injected into appropriate layers of the skin depending on the area that needs to be addressed.

What are the benefits of dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are often preferred over cosmetic surgery due to their cost-effectiveness and non-invasive nature. Results are immediate, and you can see how much you like the treatment as it progresses.

What areas can dermal fillers treat?

Dermal fillers can be used to treat a range of areas such as nasolabial lines or folds, smile lines, cheeks, lips, hollows under the eyes and temple areas. Use them to add volume to your skin, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance your facial features.

Post-Care Instructions for
Dermal Fillers in the GTA with clinics in Mississauga and Brampton

  • Wait for 24 hours before resuming exercise, especially if it’s part of your daily routine. Your doctor may suggest waiting longer as physical activity can increase blood flow, which could spread the toxin and reduce its effectiveness at the injection site.

  • Performing facial exercises like frowning, smiling, and raising your eyebrows is safe and can actually help the effects of Botox appear sooner.

  • Avoid applying makeup on your skin for at least 24 hours after Botox treatment to prevent the potential dispersal of the toxin caused by rubbing.

  • Sit upright and avoid bending or lying down for the first 4 hours after receiving Botox to minimize the spreading of the toxin and maintain its effectiveness at the injection site.

  • Consult your doctor about medications that may increase your risk of bruising and when it is safe to resume taking them.
  • Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure on the treated area and maintain a normal heart rate to allow the Botox to settle into the muscles properly.

  • Refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours after Botox treatment, as it can increase the risk of bruising.

  • Avoid skin treatments like facial massages, exfoliating scrubs, and dermal fillers for the first 24 hours as they may also reduce the effectiveness of the Botox.

  • Steer clear of sun exposure for at least 4 hours after treatment as it can cause flushing and increase blood pressure due to heat. For added caution, avoid the sun for 24 to 48 hours.

  • Try to avoid sleeping on the areas where Botox was injected to minimize physical pressure and help the toxin settle into the muscles.
