Botox carefully injected in specific areas of the forehead, scalp, neck and shoulder muscles help ease tension and reduce or prevent migraine headaches. Botox can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis, which blocks chemical signals from nerves that stimulate sweat glands. Platelet rich plasma therapy contains several tissue regenerative and growth factors and also stimulates improved blood flow and vascularization. These properties make PRP an effect treatment for hair loss, acne scars and osteoarthritis.
According to guidelines, Botox treatment for chronic migraines typically involves a series of injections administered under the skin or into the muscles surrounding the forehead, above the ears, and into the shoulders and neck. Patients typically undergo at least two treatment cycles before determining the effectiveness of Botox. An effective response to Botox often involves a 30-50% reduction in the number of headaches experienced, and doctors will also evaluate any improvements in quality of life.
