Background

Migraine headaches can be debilitating and interfere with your daily life. They can result from various genetic and environmental factors including stress, diet and even the change in weather. Excessive sweating can be uncomfortable and embarrassing, interfering with comfortable everyday interactions. Hair loss and skin conditions such as acne and scarring from acne are also caused by a variety of factors including hormonal changes, certain medical conditions, genetics, age, stress and nutritional or dietary deficiencies. Finally, painful knees and joints limit to your ability to exercise and be active.

The Issue

Migraines have unclear causes but can result from various genetic and environmental factors, including stress, diet, and environment. Hair loss in men and women can be affected by a variety of factors, including genetics, age, hormonal changes, certain medical conditions, medications, stress, and nutritional deficiencies. Excessive sweating causes discomfort and embarrassment in everyday interactions

The Solutions

Botox carefully injected in specific areas of the forehead, scalp, neck and shoulder muscles help ease tension and reduce or prevent migraine headaches. Botox can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis, which blocks chemical signals from nerves that stimulate sweat glands.  Platelet rich plasma therapy contains several tissue regenerative and growth factors and also stimulates improved blood flow and vascularization.  These properties make PRP an effect treatment for hair loss, acne scars and osteoarthritis.

FAQs

Does Botox have the ability to treat migraines?

According to guidelines, Botox treatment for chronic migraines typically involves a series of injections administered under the skin or into the muscles surrounding the forehead, above the ears, and into the shoulders and neck. The healthcare provider responsible for your treatment will be trained to administer Botox specifically for chronic migraines. Injections are typically given every 6 months. Patients typically undergo at least two treatment cycles before determining the effectiveness of Botox. An effective response to Botox often involves a 30-50% reduction in the number of headaches experienced, and doctors will also evaluate any improvements in quality of life.

Does Botox help treat Hyperhidrosis?

Botox for hyperhidrosis is an effective treatment that reduces sweating by 30 to 50% by decreasing the activity of the nerves that cause excessive sweating. The treatment is effective in treating hyperhidrosis in various body regions including the hands, but works best for the under arms. Treatment will provide approximately six months of decreased sweating after which time the procedure will need to be repeated.

How many sessions of PRP for skin and hair are required?

The number of PRP sessions needed may vary depending on the condition being treated and the individual person. For instance, hair loss treatment may involve a series of sessions spaced over several weeks or months, while aesthetic treatments such as may require 2-4 sessions. It’s worth noting that the results of PRPare unique to each individual and the condition being treated. Some people may see immediate improvements, while others may require multiple sessions to notice a significant difference. To ensure realistic expectations, it’s vital to discuss your treatment goals with your provider before commencing treatment.

Can Mesotherapy and PRP treatments be done together?

Combining Mesotherapy with PRP treatment is a highly beneficial approach, as it harnesses the healing properties of plasma and platelets to enhance cell production and restore the natural functions of the skin. These non-invasive aesthetic treatments work together to rejuvenate the skin, effectively reversing the signs of aging for a more youthful and radiant appearance. By stimulating the production of collagen and elastin proteins, which are crucial for skin repair, this combined treatment works from the inside out to deliver a healthy and glowing effect that lasts.

Post-Care Instructions for
Medical Therapies

  • Wait for 24 hours before resuming exercise, especially if it’s part of your daily routine. Your doctor may suggest waiting longer as physical activity can increase blood flow, which could spread the toxin and reduce its effectiveness at the injection site.

  • Performing facial exercises like frowning, smiling, and raising your eyebrows is safe and can actually help the effects of Botox appear sooner.

  • Avoid applying makeup on your skin for at least 24 hours after Botox treatment to prevent the potential dispersal of the toxin caused by rubbing.

  • Sit upright and avoid bending or lying down for the first 4 hours after receiving Botox to minimize the spreading of the toxin and maintain its effectiveness at the injection site.

  • Consult your doctor about medications that may increase your risk of bruising and when it is safe to resume taking them.
  • Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure on the treated area and maintain a normal heart rate to allow the Botox to settle into the muscles properly.

  • Refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours after Botox treatment, as it can increase the risk of bruising.

  • Avoid skin treatments like facial massages, exfoliating scrubs, and dermal fillers for the first 24 hours as they may also reduce the effectiveness of the Botox.

  • Steer clear of sun exposure for at least 4 hours after treatment as it can cause flushing and increase blood pressure due to heat. For added caution, avoid the sun for 24 to 48 hours.

  • Try to avoid sleeping on the areas where Botox was injected to minimize physical pressure and help the toxin settle into the muscles.
